Resin bound is an eco-friendly, highly porous solution for ground surfacing. It is a choice of decorative aggregates mixed with specialist resins then hand trowelled to give a smooth flat surface suitable for driveways, paths, and patios. Resin bond is laid in a different manner to resin bound materials. It involves applying a layer of resin to the existing surface to which aggregates are then scattered on top of. This gives a non-porous surface, which has a coarser finish and leaves a certain amount of loose stone on the final surface.

This depends on the type and condition of your existing driveway. It should be laid on an appropriate sub-base of either asphalt or concrete.

We say your new resin bound system is weed resistant rather than weed free. Whilst nothing will grow up through the surface, air born seedlings may land on top, causing a small amount of growth. We recommend applying a weed killer once or twice a year if this should happen.

The life expectancy of a resin bound driveway is over 15 years, but you could get more than this if it has been properly maintained.
